1/2 gal apple cider
1/2 gal cranberry juice (not juice cocktail)
1 cup lemon juice
1 ΒΌ cups pineapple juice
1 large orange cut in quarters
24 whole cloves
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup white sugar
4 sticks cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground allspice
dry red wine optional
thin orange slices for garnish
Stud the oranges quarters with the whole cloves.
In a large saucepan or pot, combine cider, cranberry juice, lemon juice, pineapple juice, oranges with cloves, honey, sugar & cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer; add spices & simmer for 10-15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
Add dry red wine if desired.
Serve warm garnishing each cup with an orange slice.
